Goodnight Grandpa invites translators, illustrators, and readers from around the world to build the collection and help share the story. All contributions are made on a volunteer basis and contributors are not paid for their contributions. Goodnight Grandpa is strictly not for profit and will never sell contributions to third parties.

We are deeply grateful for all submissions and credit all translators, illustrators, and readers who wish to be credited.
For best results, please see the following guidelines to submit translated text, illustrations, and/or audio files. As a contributor, you warrant that your submission is original work, except for material that is in the public domain or for which you have obtained permission.

Translations
Where possible, please translate the story line-for-line, so that all of the versions will be similar in length and fit on a single page. Centered test is preferred, but may not be suitable for all languages.

Please note: As cultures vary, we recommend that the translator consider a personal name for the young girl and a culturally appropriate interpretation for the last line of the text: “Grandpa slept very well that night and is now with the angels.”

Illustrations
Our goal is to have a different illustration for each language.
Illustrations may be created by an adult or a child and can be in black and white or color. The illustration can be of any size, but must be in a square format.

Please, if possible, send images in high resolution, 300 dpi; jpeg files are best, but .png or .gif images are acceptable.

Grandpa should be a friendly-looking elderly man – his head buried in large, soft pillow. In the story there is a lamp and a book, but we will leave the composition up to the artist’s imagination.

Readings/Audio
Audio renditions of Goodnight Grandpa are welcome in all languages – in all voices: of any gender and every age!

When recording, please make sure to have the quietest background possible.

The ideal sound files are .mp3, or .mp4; however, any format will be happily received!
